Services
The UPMC Presbyterian lab offers a full range of clinical histology services for our patients including routine histology, special stains, immunohistochemistry and muscle/ nerve enzyme histochemistry.
The lab is staffed by 28 Histology Technicians and four Lab Assistants.
We offer stain only consultation (without interpretation) for outside clients. Click here for submission instructions.
Histotechnician Shayla Harris loads special stain slides onto the Dako Artisan automated stainer.
The lab uses a mixture of both automated special stainers and manual staining for our histochemical stains.
